Howards Announces the Launch of CEFTACIN

M/s Lahore Chemical & Pharmaceutical Works (Pvt.) Ltd; manufacturers of HOWARDS brand of products has added Ceftazidime, a new product to their antibiotic line, under the brand of CEFTACIN on May. 2, the company said.

Ceftacin is a bactericidal third generation cephalosporin with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. It is a potent antibiotic which may be used as first line parenteral therapy either alone or in combination with other antibiotics (in severe and life threatening infections and patients with compromised or suppressed immune systems). It is particularly effective against hospital acquired infections including infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa which is associated with high rates of death and illness in hospitals.

Speaking at a Cake cutting ceremony to Howards's Sales force and other attendees including Managing Director, Marketing Manager, Product Manager and Noble Doctors etc., Mr. Asad I. Mumtaz, General Manager Marketing, said.

The product (Ceftacin) has simultaneously been given in different hospital wards for assessment and to the trade to cater to professional requirements. Ceftacin is available in all the three strengths of 250mg, 500mg, & 1gm for suitability to different age groups of patients.
