Lahore Chemical & Pharmaceutical Works, which came to be popularly known as LCPW was established in 1952. During the early years, the company entered into the technical collaboration with Howards of Ilford, Ilford near London and Stafford Allen & Sons of England to manufacture their specialties. But later on, the company entered into a series of technical collaboration with many other Multinationals. These alliances gave the company access to innovative technologies and research from around the world. In 1952 when the LCPW was established, it was housed in a building, which was being used for carrying out research in the botanical field. This building was on an five acre plot of land, which was later acquired by then Punjab University. A new Pharmaceutical Manufacturing plant was set up by engaging foreign consultants. Located on a five acre site this plant was constructed in the year 1961-62. Designed by a British Architect it houses the manufacturing unit, Quality Control Laboratories, office blocks, warehouses and technical service workshops. With the passage of time considerable expansion took place at the LCPW plant and a number of new-sophisticated manufacturing machines were acquired from abroad to upgrade the production requirement. Presently LCPW is producing quality Pharmaceuticals in various dosage forms i.e. Tablets, Capsules, Injectables, Ointments, Syrups, Powders, Ampoules and Vials and intravenous infusions. The list of LCPW products includes wide range of specialties like anti-biotic, anti-T.B., anti-Cancer, antihelmintics, vitamins, diuretics, laxatives, ophthalmic preparations, steroids, and local ointments. The year 1969 ushered a new era in the history of Pharmaceutical manufacturing in Pakistan, when the production of intravenous infusions was started in LCPW, in collaboration with internationally renowned manufacturers of infusions M/S Vifor, Geneva, Switzerland. Quality control is sine qua non of LCPW Products. In the plant every thing is continuously monitored and tested throughout the manufacturing process by a team of experienced and highly qualified supervisors. Special climatic and air handling controls and strict humidity control have been provided in the plant. All products are manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) conditions. Quality

Department Currently LCPW's sales team comprises of over 100 Personnel, situated all over Pakistan. A stringent screening process during recruitment ensures that energetic and qualified individuals are hired. An in house training program is conducted during the orientation program which not only ensures that the individual is equipped to promote our product line, but also is continually developed through or monitoring system which is part of our employee performance management system. Strategic Marketing Plans are developed based on research and the feed back from the sales team. LCPW only hires dedicated and highly professional people as all employees are representatives of the Company. Lahore Chemical & Pharmaceutical Works - Kot Lakhpat Unit In order to further expand the existing production capacity and to effectively meet the ever-increasing demand of intravenous infusions and other injectable preparations, LCPW established a completely new factory constructed in the year 1990 in the Industrial Area, Lahore. This plant is equipped with latest machinery and equipment for the production of PVC infusion bags and filling of I.V. Solutions. This plant has an initial capacity to produce 12,000 bags of I.V. Solutions per day. It is designed to handle a capacity of 36,000 bags per day ultimately. It is the largest plant of its kind in Pakistan. An ultra modern, monoblock machine carrying out washing, drying, filling & sealing process in continuous flow manufactured by Bausch & Stroble, Germany, has been installed in the new plant. One has to simply feed the empty ampoules at one end and get filled ampoules on the other end. All the operations are carried out under laminar flow and sterile conditions. This line is capable of giving an output of 240,000 amps per day.
